Dan Hawn

Coming off a rained-out trip to Flamboro Speedway Daniel Hawn is anxious to get back to work on his young career in the Can-Am Midget series. Event #4 is set for Sunset Speedway this coming Saturday June 15th. Joining the Midgets will be the NASCAR Whelen Late Models, Super Stock, Bone Stock and Mini Stocks.

Although laps have been tough to come by so far this season (mostly due to weather) the mechanical research, adjustments and fine tuning have never ceased. Most recently the #42 car and its owner visited Pippard Racing Engines (builder of the #42 engine) in New York State. A wealth of knowledge and guidance was gained by the visit. The folks at Pippard Racing Engines, are top notch! The highlight of the visit was seeing our Suzuki GSXR 750 wind out on the Dyno. Music to our ears! Our car arrived in good running order. But it left running like a top! Many thanks to Pippard Racing Engines.

Entering Saturday’s event with 214 points Daniel Hawn currently sits in 12th place on the season. A very respectable position considering the early mechanical issues and of course being very new to piloting a Can-Am Midget car. If you recall, in earlier season reports it was mentioned that Daniel Hawn can decrease his learning curve dramatically with relentless mechanical research and education. Much of the mechanical mysteries have been visited and uncovered in the last few weeks and we believe that the #42 will begin a slow but steady climb up the field. Confidence and comfort are the major hurdles now. With nine more events scheduled for 2019, there is lots of racing left to be done and points to be had. The #42 team has their eyes on more than their fair share!

If you are attending this Saturday? Make sure to visit the #42 team in the pits for your AUTOGRAPHED Daniel Hawn Hero Cards! And don’t forget that all Hawn Motorsports 2019 Merchandise can now be purchased at the OSCAAR Racewear booth which will be attending Delaware Speedway this Saturday and Sunset Speedway on June 29th for the SPECIAL OSCAAR ONLY EVENT!

If you have never come out to see the Can-Am Midget Series run? Make your way to Sunset Speedway this coming Saturday to watch one of the fastest races you will see this year. A well organized and administered series with a ton of history, very sexy cars and close quarter, high speed action from green to checkered! The #42 team hopes to see you there!
Thank you to our Partners on the #42 Midget car.
